Bees vs. Wasps: What’s the Difference?

Wasps Pest Control

Wasps are often confused with bees because they like to buzz around – especially where there is a food source. The body of a wasp is longer and slender in comparison to a honey-bee. A common wasp in California is the paper wasp.

Wasp Nests are commonly found in eaves, door frames, soffits, or other exposed areas of a home. Their small nests look like small mud balls – often referred to as “mud daubers” or hornets. While they are mostly non-aggressive a sting can still be painful when they are provoked.

Corky’s offers an effective extermination treatment for wasps.

Treatment

Wasp Treatments
  • Our service includes insect elimination and nest removal. Wasp nests are treated before removal.

Maintenance

After the nest treatment and removal, there will still be wasps in the area – the ones that were not in the nest at the time of the service. It is highly recommended that wasp proofing be done so the insects don’t re-infest the same area.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Our technicians make recommendations, specific to your property, to get rid of wasps and hornets and keep them away. These could include: removal of things that attract wasps, such as open trash bins, liquid bird feeders (wasps love sweets) and pet food, fixing holes and access points into the structure and filling holes in the yard (from gophers and other animals) that provide perfect nesting areas.
