Mouse Treatment

Each type of pest has different characteristics and life cycles, and each requires a different plan to effectively overcome the infestation. We know that nothing ever gets done right without a plan. You know the old saying, “plan your work and work your plan”. Corky’s has the plan and our technicians work this plan to the fullest to control your rat problems.

Mice are looking for a warm, safe environment with good access to food and occasional water. Proper treatment takes this into account, dealing with both the access situation and the food/water situation. Mice are usually the inside culprit that is getting into cupboards and messing up your pantry, not rats. Don’t let them grow to be a large population or control can be more difficult.

Since mice are opportunistic, you can help exclude mice from your premises by sealing all openings larger than 1/4 inch wide—especially your door sweeps, weather stripping, and plumbing areas. Good sanitation practices will reduce the sources of food, water, and shelter. Store all foodstuffs in rodent-proof structures or containers until the problem is under control. Clear weeds and remove debris and clutter from around structures. Take pet food and water inside at night.

Corky’s has developed specialized plans to take care of your situation:

Using the most effective rat control products made (including “Generation”, a multi-feed formula that is
specifically designed to affect rodent physiology plus specially designed, tamper-resistant feeding stations) in
conjunction with innovative control procedures, we do the following:

House mouse droppings

Plan 1—INSIDE SERVICE- We inspect and figure out where mouse activity is evident. It is often a single mouse that came inside in a box or other means. We carefully place devices to eliminate the mouse. You have a choice—you can check and dispose of the devices, or for additional cost we can do it on your regular service date, and remove any dead rodents. Devices that show no sign of activity will then be moved to more active areas. If you are not home for your service, a key must be left in a lock box or an additional trip charge will be incurred.

Plan 2—INSPECTION AND EXCLUSION-We find the areas where mice enter your home, areas of major activity, and areas where sanitation is a concern. We work with the homeowner to improve these situations to exclude mice from infesting your property. This includes sealing cracks and holes, placing mouse-proof door sweeps on exterior doors, and a new flap to seal the bottom of your garage door.

Plan 3--OUTSIDE SERVICE- Persistent mouse problems usually involve field mice, which come in from outdoors. Bait stations may need to be placed in the yard. This is best for homes with pets and children because they are tamper resistant. These devices are monitored and refilled or replaced by our technician, as these larger infestations require on-going service.
