HAIRY FUNGUS BEETLE
The Hairy Fungus Beetle is found in stored grains, but it actually is present because it feeds upon the fungus that grows when there is high moisture content present. It is a good indicator that the grain is moldy. They are also found in cornfields, where decaying ears were left behind at harvest time. These small (1/10th inch) beetles are often found with other beetles present. The larvae are a little larger, and also do damage.
